It was the perfect weather on May 31, for nine teams of golfers, including commanders — Lt. Col. Mike Squires, Hunter Army Airfield garrison commander; Lt. Col. Jason West, commander, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Aviation Regiment, and Lt. Col. Daryl Von Hagel, commander, 603rd Aviation Support Bn. — to play one final round of golf with commanders before they leave their respective posts at Hunter for other assignments.

Third CAB and garrison leaders were joined on the fairway by Soldiers, Civilians, and retirees, for fun and comradery.  The wining team was led by Lt. Col. Phillip Lamb, commander, 3rd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, with a score of 52.

Tommie McArthur, Hunter Golf Course director, said the farewell scrambles are a great way to say goodbye and to make their last days on Hunter memorable and fun.
