Garrison Super Saver Program

Are you interested in winning $500? If so this program is for you! Take a look around. Is there something you see that is wasting money? Is it a problem we can solve locally? If you are a Garrison Civilian employee and submit the best idea for saving the Garrison money, you will win $500. Submit your idea on the Super Saver Nomination Form available on the Team Stewart web page under Garrison, Resource Management Office (bottom of page is nomination form). Nominations are boarded with the Garrison of the Quarter Award submissions. Submit idea s to usarmy.stewart.usag.list.dhr-workforce@mail.mil. 

 

Sign-up for Trunk or Treat 

All units, directorates and private organizations wishing to participate in the Trunk or Treat should register by Oct. 16. The installation Trunk or Treat is scheduled Thursday, Oct. 26 from 6-8 p.m. on Fort Stewart at Donovan Field (National Guard Training Area). The form can be obtained by e-mailing Dov Estroff, at howard.d.estroff.naf@mail.mil, telephone number 912-767-6212 and turning it in to MWR Financial Management Office, building 443, Room 163. Unit with the most registered vehicles will receive a free Sergeants Time Paintball event for 30 people (minimum 20 persons). The best decorated vehicle's Unit/Organization will receive a free rental of the large pavilion at Holbrook Pond Outdoor Recreation Area.

Boss Jammin' Jet Ski Trip 

Join BOSS and see all the sights in this jet-ski tour out of the unique waterfront resort community of Harbour Town, Hilton Head Island, S.C., on Sept. 30. Sign-up at Stewart/Hunter Leisure Travel by Sept. 15. Space is limited and spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost is $95 per person for this $120 value. Price includes transportation. Food and beverages at personal expense. This is a great trip for single Soldiers, single parents and geo-bachelors. For  information, call 767-9917.

 

Bodybuilding competition held

This is an open competition Sept. 23 at Woodruff Theater, building 410. Male and female weight classes.  Divisions are Open, Novice and Masters (40 and older) Men’s Bodybuilding, Open Men’s Physique and Open Women's Figure. Registration/weigh-in 8:30-9 a.m.; pre-judging 10 a.m.; and finals 6 p.m. Cost is $60 per contestant. Register by Sept. 15. Crossover fee is $35. Spectator fees are $10 for pre-judging and $10 for finals. For more information, call 912-767-3031.

 

BOSS paintball at Holbrook

Enjoy some paintball fun with BOSS at Holbrook Recreation Area at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16. This high-energy, competitive experience will fit all your extreme sport needs whether you're a beginner or experienced player. The cost is $15 per person, which includes paint and lunch. This is a $30 value. Open to ages 18 and older. Register at Stewart/Hunter Leisure Travel Office. 

 

BOSS Skate-Tacular at Corkan 

Single Soldiers, single parents, geo-bachelors: wear your throwback outfits for this free BOSS 70/80/90s-themed skate party from 7-9 p.m. Sept. 20 at Corkan Fun Center. Free food and games with prizes. For more information, call 912-767-9917.     

 

Kids Fishing Event at Hunter 

Youth (ages 15 and younger) of Military ID Cardholders are invited to take part in a fishing event from 7-10 a.m. Sept. 23 at Hallstrom Lake (off S. Perimeter Road). There’s no charge. DPW Fish & Wildlife will stock the pond with catfish. Youth will be given the first chance to fish until the area opens to all authorized users at 10 a.m. Permit and state fishing license fees waived. Limit of five catfish per child. A fish-cleaning station will be available during the kids fishing event. Limited amount of bait, along with poles to borrow will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis; so bring your fishing pole. For more information, call 912-315-9554.

 

Free Teen Babysitting Courses 

Free, 16-hour Babysitting Certification Courses for CYS-registered teens ages 13-18 are being offered at both Fort Stewart and Hunter. The course consists of two eight-hour classes and teaches basic skills necessary to safely care for children. Attendance at both sessions required for certification. Minimum of eight students required per class. Stewart classes will be from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 and Saturday, Sept. 23 at Youth Sports and Fitness Center, building 7338. Hunter classes will be from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 and Saturday, Sept. 23 at Youth Services, building 6054. Upon completion, teens have option of being registered on Stewart/Hunter babysitting referral lists at Parent Central Services. Participants must pre-register at Parent Central Services.
