The 3rd Infantry Division Band, color guard and Sgt. Rocky, joined local schools, Feb. 9, in Savannah, in recognition of Georgia’s 285th birthday.

Georgia was founded on Feb. 12, 1733 with General James Edward Oglethorpe as its first governor. Local schools commemorate the occasion with the annual Georgia Day parade. The procession features local marching bands and children dressed in period costumes, through the squares of Bull Street from Forsyth Park to City Hall.

The program also included remarks from local elected officials. This year was the highest attendance.
