Operation “ME” Day at Hunter Club recently was such a hit with some that they plan to register and attend the “ME” day scheduled from 1-4 p.m. March 11 at Club Stewart as well.

“It was great. I enjoyed it from the time I walked in the door,” one spouse said as she prepared to leave. “The staff and the vendors were all very nice and attentive, and the products were of a very high quality,” she said.

The “M.E” in Operation ME Day stands for “Mission Essential,” a description of how important military spouses’ sacrifices and contributions are to the Army’s mission.

The goal of Operation ME Day planners and participating vendors is to provide a special time to refresh and renew for military spouses – especially spouses of deployed Soldiers.

Guests at Hunter Feb. 24 were welcomed with a choice of refreshments – chilled cucumber water or green tea, and a scented lavender towel to feel calm and relaxed before entering the exhibit area. Light appetizers were offered butler style throughout. Relaxing meditation music played in the background.

“I loved it,” said one spouse when asked whether she enjoyed the Hunter Club event. “When’s the one at Fort Stewart? I’m going to go to that one, too.”

All registering in advance for the March 11 Stewart event will receive an “Operation ME Day” tote bag and a pair of slippers. Door prizes, in addition to those provided by vendors, will include beautiful, soft fleece robes with the “ME Day” logo and vendor gift baskets/cards.

Register at The cost is $5 for Marne Star card holders and $10 for general admission. Walk-ins also are welcome, but only 25 people will be admitted each 30 minutes. Online registration closes Wednesday, March 7.

CYS is holding a Parents Day Out event at the same time as the “Operation ME Day event. “Child care is available for CYS-registered youth. Sign up by Wednesday, March 7. No walk-ins available. Cost will be $4 per hour per child.

Among them are Milan Esthetics, Mary Kay, Joberson Day Spa, La Terra Natural Oils and Savannah Cosmetology Institute.
