Fort Stewart supports Orlando RAD

More than 1,200 military veterans and retirees registered to attend the annual Retiree Appreciation Day held at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, with more than 2,000 attending.

More than 1,200 military veterans and retirees registered to attend the annual Retiree Appreciation Day held at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, with more than 2,000 attending. The day's events included updates about the Department of the Army's Retirement Services, TRICARE, and the Veterans Administration. The Vietnam War Commemoration program was also at the RAD; veterans who served during the Vietnam War, regardless of location, were asked to come forward. Fort Stewart garrison commander Col. Jason Wolter, and command sergeants major Marty Conroy and John Johnson presented the veterans with salutes and Vietnam Veteran lapel pins. As in past years, representatives from TRICARE and the identification card section were the most popular with veterans and their families.
