Diamond Elementary School hosted Law Day for the fifth graders, May 1 at Fort Stewart.

Capt. Jeff Johnston, 1st LTt.Danielle Cowan, Staff Sgt. Rhiannon Williams and Spc. Tyshea Council, from Fort Stewart’s Staff Judge Advocate’s office supported the event.

The SJA staff presented a snap shot of the three branches of governments and the interaction between the legislative, judicial, and executive branches – to help create laws.

Johnston explained interaction between the Congress, the courts and the White House, all play tremendous parts – and let them experience the process in their own classroom.

The fifth graders were selected for the various roles of government and asked to see the importance of voting.

The SJA then answered questions regarding how the various offices were filled; and when the White House was built.
