Long range shoot at Stewart

Long range shoot will be held Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Red Cloud Echo Range on Fort Stewart.  Open to rifles (up to .50 caliber) only. Cost is $15 per two-hour block. Paper targets 100-500 yards, steel targets at 750 and 1,000 yards. For more information, call 435-8205. All payments cash only. (The shoot is subject to range control and training schedules.) CYS offers summer camp opportunities

Stewart/Hunter Child and Youth Services is offering an array of summer camp opportunities for first- to fifth-graders registered with CYS. Themes such as All About Me, Young Chef Academy, International Week, Exploring Under the Sea and Super Soaking Week are offered. Camps also include educational and fun field trips. Register today. Marne trail bass tourney continues

The third of five catch-and-release Marne Trail Bass Tournaments will be held at 6:30 a.m. Saturday at Pineview Lake on Fort Stewart. Cash prizes are $250 for first-place (total weight, five-fish maximum per person) and $100 for the largest bass. Door prizes awarded after weigh-in at 11 a.m. Fees are $25 for active duty Soldiers, retirees, Family members and youth (15 years old and younger); $35 for the civilian community. Sunday family fun day at Hunter golf

Enjoy a fun afternoon of golf with your Family at a discounted rate every Sunday after 1 p.m. at Hunter Golf Course. Free greens fees for junior golfers (ages 5-15) with a paid parent’s greens and golf cart fees. For more information, call 315-9115. 


SKIES offers cheer, tumbling classes

School of Knowledge, Inspiration, Exploration & Skills is now offering competitive cheer and tumbling classes for youth 5-18 years old at both Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. Participants must be enrolled in Child and Youth Services. The cost for competitive cheer is $50-55 per month and the cost for tumbling is $45-50 per month. Kids Bowl free at Marne, Stewart lanes

Sign up at for the Kids Bowl Free program at Marne Bowling Center, building 402, and Stewart Bowling Center, building 450. Each registered child ages 0-15 can bowl two free games a day Monday-Friday (not available on holidays). Shoe rental is $2.50. No charge to register online for free games. Program runs through September. Family passes, at discount prices, available so parents can bowl with their children. 'The Springs' Water Splash Park opens

‘The Springs’ Water Splash Park at Cypress Creek opens for a new season Saturday. The park, featuring 11 water spray features, is open to children up to 12 years old. Cost is $2.50 per person. (All persons entering the Splash Park gated area will be charged.) Children two and under admitted free with a paying adult. Military or DoD identification is required. Hours of operation are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday-Monday. Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Waterproof diapers (“swimmers”) required for children not potty-trained. Family Splash Park season passes (up to 6 Family members) cost $80. Family splash park/mini golf season passes (also up to six Family members) cost $140. Powerlifting, bench press competition

You’ve put in the time, the effort and the discipline. Now, see how you stack up against others in the Powerlifting and Bench Press Competition starting at 9 a.m. Saturday at Newman Fitness Center. Cost is $30 for entries received by May 4 and $40 after that. Program will consist of squat, bench press, and dead lifts. Each competitor will be given three lifts per event, for a total of nine lifts. Top three lifts will be combined, for a total weight lifted, to determine final place of competitors. Cup of the Month Golf Tournament 

The season’s final Taylors Creek Golf Course Cup of the Month Golf Tournament will be held Saturday. The stroke play event is open to all golfers and the public is welcome. Register in advance at the course or by calling 767-2370. Briefing at 11:45 a.m. and tee times start at noon. Awards to cup winners in Open, Women’s, Senior (50-59) and Super Senior (60 and older) divisions. Cost is $40 for members, $45 for non-members and includes greens fee, cart, one range ball token, drinks and prizes.  


America’s Armed Forces Kids run 2018 

Non-competitive runs, part of a national event in support of Armed Forces Day, start at 9 a.m. Saturday at Jordan Gym (building 608) on Stewart, and at Stephen Douglas Street and North Perimeter Road on Hunter. Youth aged 5-13 are invited to participate. Free. T-Shirts awarded to all youth participants who complete the run. Ages 5-6 run .5 of a mile; ages 7-8 run one mile; ages 9-13 two miles. Boss Movie Night At Pooler – Deadpool 2

BOSS Movie Nights program provides transportation and a cost-reducing way for Stewart/Hunter Active Duty Single Soldiers, Single Soldier Parents and Geo-Bachelors to enjoy the film “Deadpool 2” at Pooler Royal Cinemas on Friday, at 6 p.m. Cost of $5 per person includes movie ticket, transportation. Reef Exhibit At Hunter And Stewart

The Gray’s Reef interactive, 3D traveling exhibit will be at Youth Services, building 6054 at 304 North Perimeter Road (Hunter), Saturday at 1:30 p.m., and the School Age Center, building 7160 at 97 Austin Road (Stewart), Sunday, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.The visits are in celebration of national “Get Into Your Sanctuary” Day and there is no charge. The exhibit features interactive elements, video displays, virtual dives, sounds, light and images, including a 3D loggerhead sea turtle, a goliath grouper and a few “cool creatures.”Bring your smartphone to get the most out of your experience. Outdoor Pools Open For Season

Stewart/Hunter outdoor swimming facilities open Memorial Day Weekend (starting May 26) for the new season. At Stewart, Corkan Outdoor Pool, building 446, will be open Thursday-Monday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. (closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays) and Bryan Village Pool (building 7098) will open weekends only 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Hunter outdoor swimming pool and water spray park, behind Hunter Club, will be open Thursday-Monday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. (closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays.) Pricing is as follows:
