Chaplain's Corner: Army Families are best!

Since April is the Month of the Military Child, my wife has been a real "Army Wife" for 23 years and my children are part of an "Army Family," I can say with confidence that Army Families are the best! My years as the Soldier, husband and dad of an Army Family, as well as my Family surviving four deployments, qualifies me to make this statement. I am convinced that Army Families are the best and here are my top 10 reasons:

What exactly is a volunteer?

What exactly is a volunteer? Is it the United States Army retiree who wants to give back to his/her community? Is it the high school student volunteering some hours after class instead of playing video games, while learning valuable life skills? Is it our wonderful military spouses who volunteer for their Soldiers Family Readiness Group? Our volunteers are that ... and much, much more.

Chaplain's Corner: How to avoid injuring your wife’s heart

Husbands may injure their wife's heart, emotionally and mentally. Believe it or not, emotional and psychological abuse can happen in homes without knowing it. This is the reason why we should strive to learn about our spouses and become better husbands. I would like to suggest three ways to ...

Marne 7 Sends: Stay focused, always be ready

When I joined the Army more than 30 years ago, I was driven. I knew exactly what I was doing and what I wanted. I wanted to be a Soldier. My success has not been because of anything special that I did, but because of the support of my Family and the leaders who invested their time and energy to train, teach, coach and mentor me on the basics. These are the type of leaders our Soldiers need today.

The first "official" Negro History Week was not celebrated until February 1926, and received an overwhelming response. Soon, there were Black History clubs, teaching materials for students and people, both black and white, began to step forward to endorse the effort.

Observance unites Soldiers

The African American/Black History Month Observance was hosted by 3rd Infantry Division, Feb. 12, at Club Stewart. It was full to capacity with men and women remembering and respecting the strides made for racial equality.
