A small element of DIVARTY and Task Force Marne Soldiers will head to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan to assist the 3rd Infantry Division Headquarters in their Resolute Support mission as U.S. Forces-Afghanistan’s National Support Element.

By supporting the division in the defense of our nation, the ceremony marked the return of Marne Thunder to its natural place in the world, Marshall said. “The 3rd Division Artillery is trained and ready to deploy and support our storied division as it has ably done in the past,” he said. “We hold on to that legacy even as we write a new chapter in the DIVARTY history.”

Brig. Gen. Sean Bernabe, Task Force Marne commander, also expressed his trust as he said, “We are confident that Team Thunder is ready to give Marne 6 the fires expertise he needs, and, I’ll tell you, Maj. Gen. Quintas is very excited to get more Dogface Soldiers on his team in Afghanistan.”
