Winn hosts mother, baby Virtual Facebook Town hall

The goal at Winn Army Community Hospital is to provide the best in state-of-the-art care for Soldiers, retirees and their Families.  We accomplish this mission with support from our local network partners to provide you with the best possible medical care.

This summer, the community we serve will be experiencing a higher than average birth rate.  Due to the surge in births, many patients under obstetric care will need to be transferred to a civilian network provider through the birth of their baby no later than May 31.  Selection for the obstetrical referral is based off locality.  Our goal is to send you to a network facility most conveniently located to your current address.

To answer questions and/or concerns about these upcoming changes, Winn Army Community Hospital will host a Virtual Facebook Town Hall, 1 to 2 p.m., Monday on Facebook, located under our events section. We invite those who received a letter recently, who may be affected by these changes, to join the conversation.

 The hospital commander and the subject matter experts will be on hand to answers questions posed during the Town Hall.

Christopher Warner, Winn ACH commander. “Above all, we are dedicated to providing you with the highest quality healthcare.  We pride ourselves on ensuring you remain a priority within our healthcare system during this time of change.  I am incredibly sorry for this change in your plan of care, and truly look forward to the opportunity of resuming care of you and your Family after you deliver.”

The difficult decision to refer obstetric care was made because the beneficiaries’ healthcare team wants to ensure the safest and most memorable birth experience. Winn understands this is an important time in Families’ lives and the birth of a child is an unforgettable event.   Following the birth of the baby, beneficiaries care will transition back to Winn Army Community Hospital for postpartum, primary care and well-baby needs.

Those affected will receive confirmation via mail from Humana Military Health Services.  If any other questions arise, patients are encouraged to contact a Health Benefits Advisor at Tricare. Recognizing that patients may have developed strong relationships with their Winn provider, the staff at Winn is here to assist patients with the transition in whatever manner is needed. 

Attendees should review the posting policy located under the "About" tab and in the “Impressum” tab before participating in the virtual town hall. Comments that include swearing or comments that include HIPPA violations or are personal attacks, racist, obscene or are abusive will be removed, and the user may be banned from the page.
