Supporting Savannah on St. Patrick's Day

Soldiers with the 3rd Infantry Division band entertain the crowd while marching in the 2018 St. Patrick's Day Parade in Savannah, March 17. Military units have participated in the parade from its inception. This year 3ID Soldiers had the unique opportunity to march right behind Vice President, Mike Pence. Pence was on hand to visit with Savannah city officials and witness the nation's second-largest St. Patrick's Day parade.

Lt. Col. Theodore Leonard, commander of 2nd Combined Arms Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, leads a formation of Dogface Soldiers while marching in the 2018 St. Patrick's Day parade in Savannah, March 17, participated in the parade from its inception.  Also participating in the parade were the 3rd ID color guard, 3rd ID band, and Sgt. Rocky.  This year 3rd ID Soldiers had the unique opportunity to march behind Vice President, Mike Pence.  The annual William Jasper ceremony, March 16, was also supported with the 3rd ID color guard, firing party, the band, and the Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield senior enlisted advisor, Command Sgt. Maj. Martin Conroy who helped lay a wreath at the William Jasper monument.
