Register for Junior Golf Camp
PGA Professionals Tommie McArthur of Hunter Golf Course and John Fesperman of Taylors Creek Golf Course are accepting registrations now for Junior Golf Camps scheduled in June. Kids from 7-17 can learn how to grip a golf club, the stance, the swing, rules and history of the game and golfing etiquette. They’ll use their new skills hitting golf balls. Cost for each camp is $60 per person. Hunter Golf Course (912-315-9115) camps will be held 9 to 11 a.m. June 12, 19 and 26; and July 10, 17 and 24. Taylors Creek Junior Mini Golf Camp will be held from 10 a.m. to noon June 8, 15 and 22.  Visit or call for more information.

Vie in 2017 River Adventures Series
MWR’s Outdoor Recreation has planned a series of water events for the spring and summer. Georgia waterway kayaking trips, at a cost of $20 per person, are scheduled for June 10 and July 15. Tubing on the Ichetucknee River in Florida, at a cost of $35 per person, is scheduled June 17. Whitewater rafting in Columbus, Ga., $75 per person, is scheduled for July 8. Join Marne Trail Bass Tournament 
The third of four catch-and-release Marne Trail Bass Tournaments will be held at 6:30 a.m. May 20 at Sands Pond in Evans County. Cash prizes are $250 for first-place (total weight, five-fish maximum per person) and $100 for the largest bass. Door prizes awarded after weigh-in at 11 a.m.  The fee is $20 during early-bird registration (through Sunday) for active-duty Soldiers, retirees and their Family Members and youth (15 years old and younger). Early sign-up is $30 for the civilian community. The fees increase by $5 Monday. Compete for Angler of the Year honors, to be awarded at final tourney Sept. 23. Water Spray Park opens May 19 
‘The Springs’ Water Spray Park at Cypress Creek will open for a new season May 19. The park, featuring 18 water spray features, is open to children up to 12 years old from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cost is $2 per person. Children 2 and under admitted free with a paying adult. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday-Monday. Closed Tuesdays. Waterproof diapers (“swimmers”) required for children not potty-trained. For more information, visit or call 912-767-4273.

Armed Forces Kids Run comes here
Noncompetitive runs, part of a national event in support of Armed Forces Day, start at 9 a.m. May 20 at Jordan Fitness Center (building 608) on Stewart, and at Stephen Douglas Street and North Perimeter Road on Hunter. Youth aged 5-13 are invited to participate in the runs. There’s no charge, and T-shirts will be awarded to all youth participants. Installation outdoor pools open May 27
Stewart-Hunter outdoor swimming facilities open Memorial Day Weekend (starting May 27) for the new season. At Stewart, Corkan Outdoor Pool, building 446, will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday-Monday (closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays); and Bryan Village Pool (building 7098) will open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends only. Hunter Outdoor Swimming Pool and Water Spray Park, behind Hunter Club, will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday-Monday (closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays). Pricing is as follows:
• Daily fee: $4 per person (Kids under 4 admitted free)
• Season Family Pass:
     - $80  E1-E4
     - $90  E5-E6, W1,W2,O1,O2
     - $110 E7-E8 O3,O4
     - $130 All other ranks and DoD employees

Kids bowl free all summer at centers

Sign up now at for the summer-long Kids Bowl Free program at Marne Bowling Center, building 402, and Stewart Bowling Center, building 450. Each registered child receives, via e-mail, certificates to bowl two free games a day this spring and summer. Registration is free and there are no strings attached. Program runs now through Sept. 1. Register for youth Taekwondo classes
CYS-registered youth (ages 5-18) are invited to sign up now at Parent Central Services, building 438 for youth Taekwondo classes. Teach your children discipline through the sport of Taekwondo at the Youth Sports and Fitness Center, building 7338. The cost is $45 per month. This is part of the SKIES Unlimited program. Shake-it-off Yoga Class at Youth Sports
Youth Sports, located in building 7338 at 946 Austin Road, is offering a Shake It Off Yoga class free to CYSS-registered youth on 5 to 6:15 p.m. Wednesdays. Youth 11-18 will learn about Yoga and its personal benefits and how to develop the life-long skill of calming the mind while stretching and strengthening major muscles.  For more information, call 912-767-5079.

Marne-branded apparel now available at Taylors Creek Golf Course. The T-shirts are manufactured by Nine Line Apparel of Savannah. Join “Stress Session Skating” at Corkan
Need a stress break? Stress relief and burning calories are two of the leading benefits of roller skating. Why not see for yourself? On Thursdays “Stress Session Skating” will be from 3 to 6 p.m. at Corkan Fun Center, building 449. Commander’s Scramble at Taylors Creek
Enjoy golf, camaraderie and team-building during the Commander's Scramble May 26 at Taylors Creek Golf Course. Jacksonville Jaguar Tickets go on sale
Tickets for all pre-season and regular season Jacksonville Jaguars home games will go on sale June 1 at the Stewart-Hunter Leisure Travel Offices. Ticket prices will vary according to the game. The Jaguars play their home games at EverBank Field in Jacksonville. They will open the 2017-2018 exhibition season in Jacksonville Aug. 17 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and regular season play at home Sept. 17 against the Tennessee Titans. All-Army Ten-Miler Qualifier Race
Earn the honor of representing the 3rd Infantry Division in the 33rd Annual Army Ten-Miler in Washington, D.C., Oct. 8 by being a top finisher June 17 in the Qualifier Race at Donovan Field, Fort Stewart. Two females and four males will qualify. Only active duty may qualify, but Family Members, retirees and DOD Civilians are welcome to participate. The qualifier begins at 6 a.m. Runners can register beginning at 5 a.m. at the Donovan Field location. For more information, call 912-767-8238.

Taylors Creek Club Championship
The Taylors Creek Club Championship, featuring competition in four divisions, will be played June 10-11 at the par 72 Taylors Creek Golf Course on Fort Stewart. The tournament is open to the public. PGA Professional John Fesperman Jr. said all players will be given a tee time. Champions will be crowned in the Men's Division, Women's Division, Senior Division (50 to 59) and Super Senior Division (60 and older). The cost of $75 per player includes greens fee, cart fee, range balls, prizes and lunch on Sunday. Players are asked to register before June 8. For more information, call 912-767-2370.
