Company C, 603rd Aviation Support Battalion and former Hunter Intramural Basketball Champs 224th Military Intelligence Battalion, faced off for bragging rights March 24 at Hunter Army Airfield for the 2018 Hunter Championship.

At half-time 224th MI Battalion had the lead by four points, but Co. C started to gain motivation and narrowed the gap.  Co. C, increased their rebound shots and closed to a four-point gap of 27-31.

224th MI Battalion, who led the early part of the game, couldn’t hold the lead as Co. C, kept up the defense and turned rebounds into points.

Co. C earned the win by a single point, and became Hunter's 2018 Intramural Basketball Champions with a score of 34-33.

One of the star players, Davontae Gordon, serves as an Information Technology Specialist for Co. C, is a long time recreational basketball player. Gordon said he has been playing basketball off and on, for the last ten years.

“This is my first year with Charlie Company,” Gordon said.  “Last year we faced a lot of adversity; we did a lot better this year and we feel confident playing in the finals,” Gordon said.

The Hunter Champions will next face off against Co. A, 703rd Brigade Support Battalion for the title of the Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield Installation Intramural Basketball Champions, and extensive bragging rights.
