ACS building is accessible to everyone

Army Community Service wishes to inform our community that our facilities meet, or exceed, the standards for persons with disabilities. Our facilities are wheelchair accessible; and should you need assistance upon arrival, please inform one of our staff members. The playground next to building 82 at Fort Stewart is certified as an Exceptional Family Member playground. Hunter EFMP playground is located next to building 1284. Spouse reintegration training on-going

As Soldiers from the 3rd ID return from deployment, we want to ensure spouses and Families are properly prepared. Rear detachment commanders and family readiness groups are encouraged to reach out to ACS and schedule a spouse reintegration training, which consists of facilitated small group discussions regarding finances, stress management, effective communication and more.  To schedule a training event for your unit, please call  767-1257.  


Love beyond words class is on going

A good relationship is one which allows for change and growth and for two people to forge a lifetime of memories with each other.  Highly effective relationships also allow for growth in the expression of love whether it be action or words.  The Family Advocacy Program professionals would like to help you learn how to “Live every moment and laugh every day”. Five love languages courses offered

Do you want to learn how to express heartfelt commitment to your mate? If you do, then come and learn about the five love languages.  Learn how to identify and apply them to your everyday life with your spouse.  Come by your local ACS Family Advocacy Program and get more information on the class.  We hope to see you in the class so you can better understand your spouse’s “Love Language”.  For more information visit the Army Community Service or call 767-2882 or 315-3816. 


ALL day REAL FRG course held

Have shortages in your unit Family Readiness Group?  If so, join the team, Sept 5.  REAL FRG leader training will take place from 9-11:30 a.m. This course teaches spouse volunteers the roles and responsibilities of the FRG and how it assists with readiness.  In the afternoon, 1- 4 p.m.  REAL fund custodian training will take place.  This trained is designed to teach the specific role of the fund custodian along with the regulatory guidance. This training will be conducted in ACS building 87, and both events have practical exercises along with outstanding discussion.  Please call 767-1257 to register or register on the ACS Eventbrite page. 


Hunter REAL FRL training slated 

The REAL FRL training course is designed to prepare Soldiers who are appointed as the unit Family Readiness Liaison.  The course covers the operational, logistical and administrative aspects of the FRG and how your role will assist FRG volunteer leaders.  Upon completion of the course the FRL will have a better understanding how the FRG relates to readiness and why it is important.  Please call 767-1257 to register or register on the ACS Eventbrite page.  The training will be conducted in building 1286. 


AFTB is back

Army Family Team Building level K is slated for  Sept. 19 and 20.  Seats are still available.  AFTB Level K is an outstanding training curriculum designed to educate spouses new to the Army.  It is trained by spouses who have completed the certification process.  Bring the kids --training is open to Soldiers and Department of the Army Civilians.  This event take place in ACS building 87. Register by calling 767-3276.


IEP workshop held

Attend the Individualized Education Plan workshop on Sept. 27. The Exceptional Family Program will conduct an IEP workshop on Sept. 27 at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. The workshop will be held from 12:30 -1:30 p.m., ACS building 86 and at Hunter, building 1286. For more information call 767-5058 or 315-6818, respectively. 


Play mornings held

Did you know that play is important to healthy brain development?  Please join us to learn and play at the Army Community Service play morning. Play Morning features music, story time, crafts, interactive play and an awesome way for parents and children to make lasting friendships.  Fort Stewart play morning is located inside the Youth Sports and Fitness Center, building 7338 on Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Hunter Army Airfield Play Morning is located in building 6054 on Tuesdays from 10 -11:30 a.m.  For questions or concerns please contact the ACS New Parent Support Program at 767-2882 at Fort Stewart or 315-3816 at Hunter. 


ACS embedded financial counselors

Do you want to take control of your finances?  Well, the ACS Financial Readiness team has embedded a financial counselor within each brigade to service all your financial needs. Sunday family fun day at Hunter golf

Enjoy a fun afternoon of golf with your Family at a discounted rate every Sunday after 1 p.m. at Hunter Golf Course. Free greens fees for junior golfers (ages 5-15) with a paid parent’s greens and golf cart fees. For more information, call 315-9115. 


SKIES offers cheer, tumbling classes

School of Knowledge, Inspiration, Exploration and Skills is now offering competitive cheer and tumbling classes for youth 5-18 years old at both Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. Participants must be enrolled in Child and Youth Services. The cost for competitive cheer is $50-55 per month and the cost for tumbling is $45-50 per month. Kids bowl free at Marne, Stewart lanes

Sign up at for the “Kids Bowl Free “program at Marne Bowling Center, building 402, and Stewart Bowling Center, building 450. Each registered child ages 0-15 can bowl two free games a day Monday-Friday (not available on holidays). Shoe rental is $2.50. No charge to register online for free games. Program runs through September. Family passes, at discount prices, available so parents can bowl with their children.
